GUNS AT COLORADO POINT IN WW-II
During World War II guns were placed on Colorado Point to defend the island.  As well as these guns other guns were located around the island as well as searchlights for spotting ships at sea.  Today, all that is left of the guns on Colorado Point are their foundations, still visible with cactus growing up inside the foundation.  The following photographs were taken by Steve Fremgen in 2004

THE CONCRETE ON THE UPPER RIGHT IS THE FIRST STEP INTO THE BUNKER.  THE LIGHT COLOR FILL IS IN THE STAIRWAY DOWN INTO THE BUNKER. HERE YOU CAN SEE THE WOOD BEAMS THAT SUPPORTED THE ROOF AND A PART OF THE CONCRETE WALL INSIDE THE UNDERGROUND BUNKER
ANOTHER OF THE BUNKERS THAT WERE FILLED AND ARE NOW SETTLING.  THIS IS NOT THE SAME BUNKER AS ABOVE. FROM THE SAME BUNKER AS ON THE LEFT, THE ROOF BEAMS EXPOSED AFTER SETTLING AND COLLAPSE OF THE ROOF.
