| The only way in or out of Lago Colony was through Gate # 6. Persons with badges, could enter the refinery and get to and from Lago Colony and San Nicholas through the refinery, but all others had to use Gate # 6. This gate was manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by at least two policemen and usually more. One of which was a Dutch policeman and the other or others being Lago policemen. When I lived in Lago Colony I did not think of it as a "gated community" but it was. When I became an adult and lived in the United States I objected to "gated Communities". It was not until I began to work on "History of Lago" that I came to the realization that I had grown up in a "gated community". Dan Jensen |
