Lago Legend was begun by James L. Lopez many years ago and was completed by Vic Lopez, after the death of his father, who died before completing the project. And what a project. The first book has 687 pages and cover 84 families' histories while in Aruba. Vic published the book and did a marvelous job. He and has family have graciously agreed to allow it to be placed on the lago-colony web site. There is a second book, not quite as large and it to will be posted on the web site in the near future.
The book is presented in Adobe format so you will need Adobe Reader in order to access the pages. If you do not have Adobe Reader on you computer you can go to http://www.freesoftwarehq.net/acrobat/ and download it for free.
Vic still has a few copies of the book available and if you would like a printed copy please email him at: vigwig@consolidated.net. He is selling the book at his cost and I can say it is worth every penny and a great addition to any ex-Lagoites' library. But it is not the type of book to sit on the library shelf, it is the type of book that needs to be out on the table, where you can pick it up and when you have ten or fifteen minutes free time read one of the family stories. With 84 families @ 15 minutes each, that's 21 hours of reading, a lot of book, a lot of fun and loads of Lago history.
Vic is working on a third book, so if you would like your Lago story included in Volume III please write it up and email it to him. Vic says: "I am collecting stories and anecdotes for Volume III. Will also consider family group photographs or individual photos of contributors. Stories can be an anecdotes alone or family story of complete tenure in Lago Colony"
