Fred and Alice Quirams

I would like to tell a little about my family; the Quirams. My dad, Fred Quirams, came to Aruba in 1937 to work in the Accounting Department.  He was living in Elizabeth, NJ. His brother worked for Esso in New Jersey and was offered a job in Aruba but didn’t want to go to Aruba, so my dad went an applied for the job and got it.
My mom, Alice, went to Aruba in 1940 and worked in the Secretary Pool & Mailing Room.  My mother also worked at the Elementary School for 12 years as the Secretary.
She met my dad when he didn't put enough postage on a letter to his parents. They were married three months later, in 1941.
We lived in bungalow 355 from the time I was two. My parents have three daughters; Kay born in 1943, Joyce born in 1944 & Bonnie born in 1946.  All the girls were born in Aruba. My dad and sister Kay both passed away 15 years ago. My mother still is going strong. I was married to Jock Dittle who came to Aruba when he was eight. He and I have three children; Joi, Jina and Jeffrey. Jock passed away in 1979. Jock family was Lou & Margaret Dittle.
