“The History of Savaneta”

Savaneta, where our history began.

This historic edition is a publication in which I focus on the important role that Savaneta played from the beginning and the developments that followed to the actual situation of our island. The history of Savaneta is the biggest history of our island which dates back to centuries ago. To talk about the history of Savaneta we must consider various very important periods in the development of our island. Specially where Savaneta initiated and shared with the important aspects in these developments. For example, because everything began in Savaneta, there you will also find the beginning of all of these developments.

In our history of our districts and Aruba in general there is a big necessity for us to accumulate important information so that we can have complete historic documents of our beloved Aruba. It is of vital importance for us to leave the history of our island as completely as possible for the future generation. The more we neglect this, less we can offer our youth of tomorrow.

My sincerest wish is to see more Arubans write histories of their districts. Who is more qualified to do this than the person who lives in that district. This way Aruba can benefit totally in its valuable history, tradition, customs, and anecdote of our population and then the Aruban will appreciate his island more. I wish that each Aruban can become more conscious of the beautiful and rich paradise that the Creator laid in the Caribbean sea, our beloved Aruba.
