I went on vacation to Liverpool, England in late April, 1946.  However due to an acute shortage of shipping immediately after the war our return to ARUBA was delayed until December, 1946 when we secured a berth on the Cunard vessel "Aquitania" to Nova Scotia---finally arriving in Aruba, via New York & Miami on 9th January 1947.

 

This meant that I missed the first 4 months of my Senior year. The then principal Mr. Ira P. Hoffman agreed to my regaining the missing months during the summer period. I was therefore excluded from the graduation ceremony of 1947 although my Graduation Diploma and school ring are both dated 1947.

 

I went through the Graduation ceremony with the class of 1948     Hence Class of 1947/48!!!
