AN OPEN LETTER TO THE PEOPLE OF ARUBA |
and |
Bird Lovers all over the world. |
The Shoco (Burrowing Owl) has up to date
(May 19, 2011) still not been nominated "National Bird of Aruba."
In February 4th, more than 3 months ago, Aruba Birdlife Conservation launched a campaign to nominate our Shoco as the National Bird of Aruba. The short film pertaining to the campaign on YouTube has been visited over 5680 times! It is plain shameful that even something as simple as this tends to vanish in silence. |

The lessons learned: How endless bureaucratic procrastination destroys the momentum of good things. Never give up….So here we go again. Those of you responsible for getting something of this nature done in Government: please move forward and let us proclaim our Shoco the National Bird of Aruba. Please show some love to Aruba’s nature. |
