BILL MOYER'S SCRAPBOOK
These photos were taken by Bill's father and uncles, really great photos of the early, old day in Aruba.

How Bill came to have the following photographs from his uncle and aunt is rather interesting.  Bill writes:

"Some years ago a cousin of mine visited Caplinger Mills, MO, where his mother and dad spent their childhood.

"The postmaster asked him; "Aren't you related to Ula Moyer?"  When he said yes, she pulled a package from the dead letter file and gave it to him.  Ula Moyer was dead but there were two photo albums of hers in the package and my cousin sent me one of them."

"So, this is mostly Claud & Ula Moyer's stuff from roughly 1929 to 1947, in Aruba.

THE NEXT PHOTO IS OF THE HURRICANE IN ARUBA IN 1932
LADIES FROM LAGO OUT FOR THE DAY, AND A DRINK.  SECOND FROM LEFT IS BILL'S AUNT, MRS. ULA MOYER.
THIS IS A PHOTO THAT BILL'S UNCLE SENT TO HIS WIFE.  HE HAD MARKED THE PHOTO BUT I REMOVED THE MARKS.  HE POINTED OUT WITH THE MARKS THAT THE LARGE BUILDING IN THE CENTER WAS THE DINNING HALL, THE HOUSE TO THE LEFT WOULD BE THE TYPE OF HOUSE THEY WOULD LIVE IN WHEN SHE CAME TO ARUBA.  HE ALSO MARKED THE HANDBALL COURT, LOWER LEFT AND THE OCEAN IN THE BACKGROUND.  I WONDER WHAT HER THOUGHTS WERE WHEN SHE SAW THE PHOTO.
ON THE BACK OF THIS PHOTO IT SAID, "OUTDOOR 10 PIN BOWLING".  I GUESS YOU HAD TO MAKE YOUR OWN ENTERTAINMENT, NOT THE WOMEN LOOKING ON IN THE BACKGROUND.
